Stage 88 Community Theatre of Bonita Springs regrets to inform you that as of April 4th, 2008...our curtain has come down for this season.
“The Trading Post” a comedy by Larry Ketron that was scheduled to go up April 24 - May 17, 2008 will be postponed and moved permanently to the first show of Stage 88's 2008-2009 Season next Fall - (October 2008) due to a lead characters emergency medical procedure which just occurred yesterday.
In order to continue to bring you the quality, live theatre that you have come to enjoy at Stage 88, we have decided to postpone this production rather than try to re-cast the role with only two weeks from opening night.
We hope that you will support our decision and agree to join us next season for this wonderfully written, heart-warming comedy.
Stage 88's new show schedule for the 2008-2009 Season (complete with dates and season line-up) will be announced soon. Please continue to check this web-site for more details.
As always, we appreciate your kind support and understanding during this difficult time for our cast and crew. We look forward to seeing you again for "The Trading Post" in October 2008.
More on "The Trading Post" by Larry Ketron:
Love comes in many forms, sometimes where you least expect it… right under your nose. This romantic comedy surrounds two previously married best friends in the age old story of, you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone.
Wallace, the owner of a second-hand shop, is about to bid a reluctant farewell to his long-time lady friend, Claudia, who is going off to Canada to care for her ailing sister. Will he have the courage to tell Claudia how he really feels before she leaves?
Set in a small town in eastern Tennessee, this lively, warm-hearted Off-Broadway success treats love among the young, and not so young, with gentle humor and perceptive understanding.
"Of all the Ketron plays I've seen or read, it struck me as the most substantial, lucid, and attractively written…" —Village Voice.
"…underneath the surface, lives are changing…the result is a welcome act of theatrical congeniality." —NY Times
